Microsoft Anti Virus
There're a few free applications available from Microsoft, a quick search of their site will yield a choice from system tools and tweaks to the two that I'm showcasing here - Anti Virus and Web Development.

Microsoft's Anti Virus offering is called Microsoft Security Essentials, it's totally free for home users running genuine Microsoft operating systems.

Microsoft Web Development.
The second free fully-functioning program is Microsoft Sharepoint Developer.
This website was originally created using Microsoft Frontpage but with MS's withdraw of the product I decided to look for a replacement. I came across Sharepoint Designer by accident whilst trying to develop a Sharepoint site.

This is a big download as it's a fully function web development program but once you have it installed you'll be able to create sites and pages very quickly and easily. Using it is very similar to Frontpage but there are plenty more features to enhance your work.

Don't be put off by the name - it's been created to administer Sharepoint sites so there are a few features that you'll probably never use. - it will work with your home or small business web server.
